Privacy, in plain English.

The short version: we keep almost nothing. Your email signs you in. If you flag a bad audio clip, we receive that report. Everything personal — your age range, the readings you keep, the lines you write, your playlists — stays on your device. We show no ads, embed no tracking SDKs, and never sell data.

Your account
You sign in with an email address. We use Supabase (our authentication and database provider) to manage sign-in, which means your email address and standard authentication records (such as sign-in timestamps) are stored on Supabase’s infrastructure. We use your email only to operate your account — sign-in links, account recovery, and messages you request. No marketing lists you didn’t ask for.
Supabase processes this data on our behalf under its standard data-processing agreement, published at supabase.com/legal/dpa.
Audio playback reports
Every player in the app has a control for reporting a faulty recording. If you use it, we receive:
- the identifier of the reading,
- the version of the audio clip you were playing, and
- an optional reason you choose to include.
These reports are tied to your account so we can follow up if a fix needs confirming, and so repeat reports can be handled sensibly. We use them for exactly one thing: finding and replacing bad audio. They are not used for profiling of any kind.
What stays on your device
The personal substance of the app never leaves your phone:
- Your age range — used only on-device to select the line written for where you are.
- Readings you keep — your saved shelf.
- Lines you write — anything you write against a reading is yours alone.
- Your playlists — built and stored locally.
We cannot read any of this. It is not synced to our servers. If you delete the app, it is gone — there is no copy with us to recover. Offline downloads of audio live on your device the same way. If we ever add a backup or sync feature, it will be optional and this policy will be updated first.
Purchases
Premium is sold through Apple. Payment is processed entirely by Apple; we never see your card details. We use RevenueCat to check whether a subscription is active, which involves an app-scoped identifier and subscription status (product, renewal state, purchase dates). Refunds and cancellation are handled through your Apple account.
The identifier RevenueCat sees is an id our app generates and maps to your account — not your email address. RevenueCat processes this data on our behalf under its standard data-processing agreement, published at revenuecat.com/dpa.
What we don’t do
- No ads. There is no ad inventory in the app or on this site.
- No tracking SDKs. No analytics trackers, no attribution SDKs, no pixels, no fingerprinting.
- No sale of data. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information — and have no plans that would change this.
Retention & deletion
Account records are kept while your account exists. Audio playback reports are kept until the underlying clip is fixed and verified, then retained only as anonymous quality records. To delete your account and the data tied to it, contact us at the address below — deletion requests are honored within 30 days.
Children
Stillwater Man is written for adults. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so plainly here and update the date at the top. We will not bury a meaningful change in quiet edits.

Your rights by region
European Union & United Kingdom (GDPR / UK GDPR). You may ask for access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of the personal data we hold about you, and you may lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Email us and we will act on it.
California (CCPA). You may ask what personal information we hold about you and ask us to delete it. We do not sell or share personal information, so there is nothing to opt out of.
